Please vote for me Embarassing Myself!!!

24 02 2011

When I went to the Autoshow this year I saw the Kia Karaoke booth and I had to do it. I made a huge fool of myself, but I had a lot of fun, and inadvertently entered myself into a contest to win a $5000 shopping spree at Best Buy.

I could really use a new laptop for school. So if you guys could vote for me, it would be much appreciated!

Springtime in the Chi.

5 05 2009

It’s getting warm, it’s getting nice, it’s a double-edged sword.

It’s starting to get really nice outside, and that brings some awesome stuff in Chicago and it’s surrounding suburbs.

  • Playing pick-up basketball in the park
  • Women in those short-shorts and skimpy tops
  • Random outdoor fun
  • Car-Season
  • Bike-Season
  • Hot mom’s
  • Hot co-ed’s
  • Hot aunt’s
  • The sun not setting at 5:30pm

Not-so awesome stuff during spring.

  • Allergies
  • Allergies
  • Allergies
  • Rising gas prices

Spring>Winter… especially when winter has lasted for 7 months.

NOTFWD.com’s first meet ’09

27 04 2009

It was crazy. Chicago’s bi-polar weather struck that day. The day before was glorious, 80 degrees, sunny, beautiful. The day of the meet… Gloomy, 37 degrees, thunderstorms. The weather didn’t matter, we had to meet up. The cabin fever over the winter had just become too much.

The turnout was great. Dare I say amazing considering the shit-tastic weather. We had about 15 cars at max, and most of us stayed for the drive (through the downpour), all the way to getting some eats afterwards.

The most exciting part of the meet was during the downpour, when you could only see 1 car ahead of you, and barely a car behind you. You had to drive with instinct, with trust, and it was such a cool feeling. Your heart was pumping a bit, the windshield wipers at max, that right foot working in cooperation with your left, and your hands, both shifting and steering.

I have to say that it was one of the best cruises I’d ever been on… or maybe that’s just the cabin fever talking.

Pics to follow….

Fast and Furious – A short review.

25 04 2009

A couple weeks ago, I saw Fast and Furious (will be now referred to as F&F). This is the “true” sequel to the original “The Fast and the Furious” movie that came out in 2001. Unlike the other movies in this series, this one actually had a plot!

F&F brought back the “main” characters from the first movie. Dom, Letty, Brian, and Mia were all there. The story was pretty engaging. After Letty dies trying to go legit, Dom, Brian and Mia proceed to take down the drug cartel that did it. And in doing so, car mayhem ensues! It was an “action movie with cars” rather than a “car movie with action.”

Speaking of cars, the car selection in this flick was pretty diverse. From American Muscle to Importabots, almost all ground was covered. The euro representation was a bit lacking… but there was a BMW 5-Series in one of the main races. I don’t know if the choice of WRX STi was such a good one. If you don’t know what it is, it just looks like an ugly station wagon, but maybe that has to do more with the style direction they went with, rather than the car itself. It was ugly.

If you want to see a movie that’s light on tone, medium on plot, and heavy on cars (with a good smattering of gyrating ladies), this movie is for you.

Likes:
– Jordana Brewster is still hot.
– Seeing familiar locations from the 1st movie.
– Tying in this movie with both the 1st and 3rd movies.

Gripes.
– What happened to Vince, Leon and Jesse? AKA, the rest of the “crew,” aka the “9-Second Maxima,” “Cops, cops, cops,” and “I have A.D.D.” guys.
– What happened to Roman?
– No awesome/memorable one-liners.

NOTFWD.com meets have started!!!!

28 04 2008

I love rolling out every Saturday and driving with these guys. We have a blast! This past weekend I took some video, and I’ve just uploaded them!

Last week, we had a great turnout. Many Miata’s, Elise’s, Exige’s, Forester’s, WRX’s, RX-8’s, 350Z’s, 240SX’s… just to name a few.

Enjoy the video’s! (If you can, watch it in High Quality mode, looks way better!)

Enjoy!
